Why R3 Matters

Recruiting, retaining, and reactivating hunters, anglers, and trappers (R3) is essential to the future of Wisconsin’s outdoor traditions. License sales not only sustain our sporting heritage but also provide the primary funding for wildlife management, habitat restoration, and conservation programs that benefit all who enjoy the outdoors. As participation declines, so does the support for these critical efforts. The Wisconsin Wildlife Federation is committed to strengthening R3 to ensure healthy fish and wildlife populations, vibrant natural resources, and the continuation of our state’s proud outdoor legacy for generations to come.

LTH Bear

Each year, WiWF is allocated a bear tag for the Learn to Hunt Bear Program, which will be presented to one deserving applicant. This application is for the single tag awarded by the WWF and other tags may be available through the LTH program. Applicants must be 10 years of age or older and not have participated in the LTH Bear program or purchased a Class A bear license in the past.

Shooting Range Seminar

Having access to well kept, safe and respectful shooting ranges throughout the State of Wisconsin are of the utmost importance to WiWF. We have partnered with the WI-DNR Shooting Range Program and the Outdoor Heritage Education Center to host a shooting range seminar to educate range managers and volunteers to ensure their ranges are as effective and enjoyable as possible for their members and public.

WiWF is a proud supporter of the Midwest Outdoor Heritage Education Expo (MOHEE). The event brings thousands of students from throughout the State to learn about the outdoors and exposing students to new activities and opportunities in the outdoors.
